In complex Video installations, system control requirements can become as intensive as matrix switching requirements. This forces installers to double the amount of hardware and double the amount of wires necessary to achieve control. In addition, it increases the time spent for installation because installers need to deal with multiple programming platforms and multiple brand support issues. Key Digital Matrix switchers and Baluns/extenders have extensive master control connectivity capability in software and hardware to help mitigate these issues:

1.      The KD-MSWCAT4x4/8x8 Matrix switch, is able to take RS232 or IR signals from a controller, and pass it through CAT5 baluns to the Display. It also works in reverse when a control system can receive RS232 or IR data from the display location.   This capability allows KD-MSWCAT8x8 to control 16 devices connected to the outputs. In addition, MSWCAT’s ‘H’ (Horizontal Sync) inputs can also be used for one way IR or RS232 transmission. This capability allows KD-MSWCAT8x8 to control 8 devices connected to the ‘H’ of the outputs.

2.      The KD-HDMS4x4 Matrix switch is able to take RS232 or IR signals from a controller, and pass it through CAT5 Baluns to Sources and Displays. It also works in reverse when the Control system can receive RS232 or IR data from sources and displays. Each input or output allows KD-HDMS4x4 to control 3 devices via IR or RS232. In total you can control 24 devices.

3.      The KD-HDMS8x8 is able to take RS232 or IR signals from a controller and pass it through CAT5 Baluns to Sources and Displays. It also works in reverse when control system can receive RS232 or IR data from sources and displays. In addition it is able to recreate any RS232 commands by TCP/IP information delivered via Ethernet. Each input or output allows KD-HDMS4x4 to control 3 devices via IR or RS232. In total you can control 48 devices.

4.      KD-VAC TX baluns can pass IR and RS232 to and from VAC Rx Baluns or MSWCAT4x4/8x8 matrix switchers.

5.      KD-BB TX baluns can pass IR and RS232 to KD-BB Rx Baluns or MSWCAT4x4/8x8 matrix switchers.

6.      KD-CVA TX baluns can pass IR or RS232 (when transmitting Component video), on the unused ‘H’ (Horizontal Sync) channel to KD-CVA Rx Baluns or MSWCAT4x4/8x8 matrix switchers.

7.      KD-CATDA Tx can pass IR or RS232 (when transmitting Component video), over the unused ‘H’ channel to and from KD-CVA Rx Baluns.
